Built to solve one small, annoying problem properly
Every month, in thousands of small companies, the same thing happens: invoices go out over WhatsApp, receipts get photographed and forgotten, and somebody's accountant sends an e-mail asking what a file called IMG_4471.jpg is supposed to be.
The tools for this already exist, in a sense. You can share a cloud folder. You can attach files to e-mail. You can send photographs over a chat app. Companies do all three, often at the same time, and the result is that at the end of every quarter somebody spends an afternoon reconstructing what was sent, what is missing, and what was sent twice.
The missing piece is not storage. It is context — and a single place where both sides agree the documents live.
KontoLink is that place. A company uploads a file and writes one line saying what it is. The accounting office receives it immediately, filed under the right month, and can see at a glance what is new. That is the entire product.
The decisions behind it
Some of these cost us money. They are still the right way round.
The note is not optional
You cannot upload a file without saying what it is. It is the one piece of friction we deliberately kept, because it is the whole reason the product is useful.
Nothing is held hostage
When a subscription lapses, sign-in still works and every document you have already sent is still downloadable. Only new uploads pause. A paywall in front of your own records would be indefensible.
Accountants pay nothing
An office might handle twenty companies. Charging both sides for the same documents would be charging twice for one job, so we charge the side that generates the paperwork.
One price, no tiers
There is no "pro" plan holding back a feature you need. Everyone on a paid account gets everything, because splitting a product this small into tiers would be artificial.
Your data stays in the EU
Servers in the European Union, no third-party analytics, no tracking cookie, and no advertising network anywhere near your accounting documents.
Offices are checked by hand
Anyone can register as an accounting office, but nobody can sign in until we have reviewed the account. It is slower for them and safer for the companies whose documents they will see.
What KontoLink is not
Being clear about this saves everyone a disappointing trial.

It does not do bookkeeping, ledgers, VAT returns or payroll. It gets documents to the person who does.

It is built around one relationship — a company and its accountant — and it would be a poor Dropbox.

Keep your own copies of anything that matters. KontoLink is the delivery channel, not your only copy.

There is a real trial and then a real price. We would rather say so on the front page than surprise you later.
